This is a beginning-level reader and writing book to precede Interactions I. It follows the same philosophy and approach of the other readers in the Interactions/Mosaic program. While the readings are not difficult, the topics are more sophisticated than those found in most low-level readers. Vocabulary is recycled from chapter to chapter in order to provide reinforcement. Approximately three-fourths of each chapter is devoted to reading and one-fourth to writing. The book is coordinated with the two companion volumes in the Interactions Access program in terms of themes, structure and vocabulary.
